My Quilt
I believe I had mentioned that I wasn't stitching and I'm not..... However, I am quilting. I found a block of the month online that I fell in love with and couldn't resist. It is 3 blocks a month for 5 months and July will be the last 3 blocks. I am sewing these by hand only because when I began I didn't have my sewing machines with me. I have them now but it's too late to sew by machine. The quilt is called "Amish With A Twist".
The first block I completed is called Rail Fence.
My second block is called Four-Patch.
The third is Nine-Patch.
The block I am currently working on is the Pinwheel. I have the triangles done but just need to put them together.
I have alot of blocks left to do but am enjoying this so much!

Changes...
Well, I realize that it has been over a year since I have even looked at this blog. Last time that I posted, I was pretty disgusted with myself for not stitching or blogging or doing anything. A lot has happened to me in a year.....
I lost my job in May 2011. I know that sounds terrible but it actually worked to my advantage. I moved to New York to live with my boyfriend of 2 years now. I've been here almost a year. I'm not working.....haven't really needed to but I am getting bored and would like to find something, even if it's just part time.
I'm still not stitching. Actually I have been quilting. I'm enjoying it very much and it's holding my interest more than stitching seems to right now. I will try and get pictures of the blocks I have completed and post them here. At least I feel like I am actually doing something creative and not just watching tv constantly.
I don't know if anyone is still looking for updates on my blog or not. If you do, thank you for reading and hopefully I will have pictures to show in a day or so. If not, that's my own fault for not being more interesting. LOL

Disappointed
Well....once again, I have disappointed myself. I so wanted to keep this blog up and be able to show off my stitching. And again, I have failed.
I guess until I can get my life into some kind of order, I am doomed to failure. I have so many UFO's and things to start and I just look at them. I just have no interest.
I look at everyone's stitching and see all the new things that are coming out and I would love to have them....love to stitch them. It's just not going to happen for me right now.
Maybe someday I can pick things back up but for right now, I just can't.....

Day Off...
It's my day off today and I have alot to do. My housecleaning I have saved to do and I need to do laundry. I work nights so I wake up late and it seems like the day is almost over and I haven't accomplished much. I would rather just sit on the couch today and watch movies and stitch. Oh well......
I have noticed that alot of people in the blogs that I read have taked on a challenge of sorts. Some are doing 15 new starts every day and then will attempt to finish them by the end of the year. Others are taking 15 WIP's and attempting to finish them by the end of the year. I think that I am unofficially going to join the 15 WIP's and try to finish them. I have soooo many unfinished projects that I would love to see finished and framed. I think that is what I will try. I will try to get those all pulled and listed here for you all to see. I can use the encouragement to get them done. I am also sure that I will start some new ones too.

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a good new year. Mine was very quiet. I had not been feeling well the last several days so I thought it best to stay home and rest. I did have to work today so it was good that I stayed in. It was very quiet...just me and the cats. I watched movies, slept, put a few stitches in the newest project I started. It still doesn't look like much but I brought it to work with me and if I'm not busy, I will put a few more stitches in it.
Hope this year is happy for everyone!

I stitched again!!
It's funny. It's been almost a year since I have picked up a needle and put a stitch in any kind of fabric. I just haven't felt like it. There have been alot of changes in my life in the last year and a half. Alot of good things have happened but alot of bad things also. I know that the bad things have brought the good things into my life and for that reason only, I can't be upset about them. I am happier than I have been in so many years. And now I want to stitch! I actually put a few stitches into something new last week. And I feel hopeful about continuing it. After I stitch a little more on it, I will share a picture.

I stitched!!!
It's been so long since I picked up a needle...................
I just haven't felt like stitching on anything that I have going
right now. I have continued to buy stash but nothing I really
wanted to start. I did go stash shopping at The Silver Needle last
Wednesday and bought 2 new kits, both from Shepherd's Bush, My Mom's
Garden and Soft Spring. I really did want to start the Garden one
but when I pulled everything out, the page with the floss and stitch
glossary was missing. I was real bummed! I called Shepherd's Bush and
spoke to a very nice woman who said she would mail me a copy right out.
I received it today and started it this evening. Such pretty colors!
I'll take a picture tomorrrow and show my progress. Not much to show
right now.

My Exchange pieces I received
I received my Heart of America exchange in the mail. It was stitched by Chris. I've already decided to make a pillow from it. I love the bright red fabric it was stitched on.

I also received my Stitch Pink exchange. It was stitched by Karen. I LOVE the bright pink fabric she stitched it on! This picture doesn't do it justice.

These were both great exchanges and I really loved stitching both of the designs I did and I love what I received!

I am so bad!!
I can't believe I let this blog just lie here and die! I have finished projects and started so many new ones! I don't have any pictures because I misplaced my digital camera but I have found it so I will try to get new pictures up sometime before the first of the week so you all can see.
I am going to do better about keeping this up. I enjoy reading other stitching blogs and I enjoy looking at all the WIP's and stitching finishes. I would like to have some on mine too.

My Weekend
I was so glad to finally see the weekend. Unfortunately, it was my Sat to work but that meant I had a short day on Fri, 7am to 11am. I came home and took a nap then stitched for awhile on my Snapperville and watched the movie "Red Eye" with my son. It was a great movie. Didn't get much stitching done. On Sat after I got home from work, I had to hurry and get some Valentine's cards ready to go out in the mail, then I settled in and watched "Spanglish" on DVD and stitched on "Common Ground". I changed over to the Olympics when the movie was over and continued stitching. I got a little done on "Common Ground". It's cold here today and I don't think I am going out so I'll stay in my 'jammies and continue stitching on "CG". I'll take some pictures later and post them so you can see.

My Sal progress for January
I am working on two SAL's for a yahoo group IWSAL. We are working on Drawn Thread's "Sanctuary" and Just Nan's "Common Ground". I have loved both of these designs for years and decided that I just had to stitch them. I am loving them both!

Common Ground

When I am done with my assignments for the month, I am also working on Bent Creek's "Snapperville". Right now, I am working on the border.

I'm going to try to post my progress on all 3 of these every week.
